Travel time from Volos is one and a half hours. We always travel on the newer motorways to make your journey safer, irrespective of the cost of tolls.
We will pick you up from the port and transport you safely there, where you may visit the monasteries of St. Nicholas of Anapafsas, Holy Trinity, St. Stephen, Roussanou, Varlaam, and the Great Meteoron.

Departing from the port, we head toward Pelion, passing through the town of Volos. In about 40 minutes you reach the first village, Portaria, built on the side of the Pelion mountain, it is renowned for the special architecture of the stone and wood houses, courtyards full of colorful flower gardens, cobblestone streets, and springs. In the central square you can find souvenirs and traditional gifts of the region.

The next village you will visit is Makrinitsa, known as “the balcony of Pelion”.

The houses of the village, built two centuries ago, embody the characteristic traditional architecture, with rich decorative painting and wood carving. These days, most of them function as guesthouses.
Additionally, in the central square you will find the Church of St. John the Forerunner (built in 1806), and the Byzantine Museum of Makrinitsa.

In the village square you can enjoy local cuisine in traditional taverns, have a drink, or try sweets made from local fruits, while experiencing a panoramic view of the city of Volos and the Pagasetic Gulf from above.

After returning to Volos, you can continue the tour by visiting the town center, St. Nicholas Church, St. Konstantinos Church, the archaeological sites, and the museums, which are informative about the history of the city.

3. Tour of the traditional villages of Ano Lechonia, Agios Georgios Nileias, Pinakates, Vizitsa, Milies Railway Station. Total travel time is 4-5 hours.
We depart from the port, heading toward Pelion, passing through the town of Volos. In 40 minutes you will reach the first destination, the village of Ano Lechonia.
There you will see the Railway Station and the Little Train of Pelion, which leaves from here and goes to the village of Milies, its final destination.

Construction of the railway line began in 1892, and it became operational in 1903. Today it operates as a tourist train, attracting many visitors.

The next village we will come to is Agios Georgios Nileias, which was built around the 15th century. It sits at an altitude of 700 meters, overlooking the Pagasetic Gulf.

Continuing on, you will pass through the village of Pinakates. Its inhabitants are largely engaged in wood carving, creating masterpieces.

The next village on your tour is Vyzitsa, built using the traditional architectural style of Pelion.

While walking through the cobblestone streets of the village, you will see houses that date back more than a century, and today function as traditional guesthouses.

In the main square you will find shops selling local products, such as their famously delicious fruit sweets.
Milies, one of the largest and most historic villages of Pelion, is the last village on the tour. There you will see the Church of the Archangels (from 1741), the Public Library of Milies (“Psychis Akos”), built in 1815, the village square and the Railway Station (completed in 1903).

On your way back to Volos, you will pass through the coastal villages of Kala Nera, Kato Gatzea, Lechonia and Agria. At the end of the tour we leave you on the ship to continue the cruise.
