Second Pelion Tour

Departure is from Volos in the morning, toward South Pelion.

You will travel through the villages of Agria, Kato Gatzea, Kala Nera, Afissos and Afetes.

Our main destination is the village of Argalasti (known as Kefalochori), the largest village in the region.

The popular sights of the village are the central square and the bell tower (45 meters tall) of the Church of the Apostles, which is a copy of the Metropolitan Church of St. Fotini, in Smyrna.

The next village on the tour is Lafkos, built on a hill overlooking the Pagasetic Gulf and beyond. We will stop at the central square of the village, with its excellent traditional cafes and little taverns.

You can visit the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, the Fabio Museum (founded in 2005 in honor of the artist Athanasios Fabas, 1922-2011), the Radio Museum and the authentic Forlida coffee house, in operation since 1785.

Lafkos

The next village you will visit is Agia Kyriaki. It is a traditional fishing village that is built on the shoreline, and resembles an island!

After your arrival, you can walk through the narrow streets of the village.

The gardens, with their colorful flowers, and the blue and white colors of the homes, create a beautiful scene.

The traditional fish taverns serve fresh fish to visitors all year long, in every season.

Continuing on our way, you will stop at the beautiful little bay of Tzasteni, where you can take photos, and even swim if you like.

Next you will see the village of Milina. There you can watch the amazing sunset over the water, if the weather is clear and permits it.

Along the way you will see the pretty little village of Horto.

At the end of the tour you arrive back in Volos, full of beautiful images and information about the places you visited.

The return to Volos will be in the afternoon.
